We are delighted to announce that the Woodland Group has once again walked away a winner at the British International Freight Association’s annual awards.
This year’s BIFA Freight Service Awards were held in London on Thursday, January 19, when we collected a trophy after impressing judges with our vision for growing the group’s airfreight business.
Visitors to the event, presented by media personality Christine Hamilton, heard how we implemented a strategic management plan which resulted in airfreight volumes increasing more than 300% in the last 12 months.
The plan involved streamlining the number of air carriers used in order to secure more competitive rates, targeting dense matter such as printed material and introducing a new account management structure. New markets were added to our airfreight portfolio, providing services to and from India, Brazil and China, among others.
Commenting on the achievement, Woodland chairman and CEO Kevin Stevens, said: “Everyone at Woodland has worked so hard to increase our airfreight business and this award is fantastic recognition of our efforts over the last few years.
“Whilst the figures speak for themselves – we were one of the highest climbers in the most recently-published IATA league table – we don’t intend to rest on our laurels. 2012 will be about working harder, winning new business and trying to do more for our clients.”
In 2010, we won the special services award for dedicated division Woodland Media Logistics, which provides logistics solutions for the magazine and book trade. There was also success in 2007, when we collected the BIFA award for training and staff development.
The Freight Service Awards are given annually by BIFA to companies demonstrating excellence in a range of categories, including quality, customer service, security, innovation, education and marketing.
If we can be of service with regards to airfreight, or any other logistics product, please get in touch with your existing Woodland contact.
